A personal perspective
I wanted to make a film about a feeling that I think we all know in some way: the feeling of realizing that a decision has taken us further than we ever intended to go. We make choices every day. Some are insignificant. Others stay with us. We often believe that, if things go wrong, we can simply turn around and start again. But sometimes we wait too long. Ruin Drive explores the moment when a series of choices begins to close every possible way out. When the consequences are no longer something we can avoid, but something we have to face. For me, the film is not about judging the choices people make. It is about understanding how we arrive at them — and what happens when there is no longer a way back. That is what I wanted to capture with Ruin Drive.
